It’s not fun jackhammering 5000psi concrete to expose embedded plastic water pipes and then fix / crimp a fitting to repair the leak. Getting the crimping tool down there isn’t easy - it’s about 7” deep and the crimping tool opens up real wide so I had to jackhammer a groove for the tool to fit (one side only, because the rebar was in the way). The picture doesn’t show this well, though...

It was a LOT of rebar cutting, bending and tying. We used up a whole roll of 1000 rebar ties and another ~half roll for about 1500 total rebar connections. Sooo much repetitive work, and in the case of the balcony, where the spacing is tighter and there are two levels, it was also difficult (and dangerous). My toes and feet feel like how a ballerina must feel...


We worked until 8:30 pm Sunday and couldn’t finish but because inspection is scheduled for today, I continued this morning from 6:30 am to 9am. I really hope we pass inspection today.
